How Public Policy at the State Level Affects Private Higher Education Institutions.
Astin, Alexander W.; Inouye, Carolyn J.
Economics of Education Review, v7 n1 p47-63 1988
Using multivariate analyses of several national longitudinal databases, state policy effects on private higher education institutions were assessed. State student aid increases were associated with overall enrollment increases in less-selective private colleges, increased enrollments of low- and middle-income students, and decreased tuition charges in the more selective colleges. Included are two notes and six references. (MLH)
