Severe disruption of Hmong and Mien family organization occurs when these groups resettle in the United States. They suffer depression from the loss of traditions and self-sufficiency. Resettlement programs have not been sensitive to their needs. Psychological trauma, especially among older refugees, has resulted. (VM)
