Psychological maneuvers elementary school teachers can use to strengthen student motivation include: establishing personal performance goals and positive teacher and student expectations; including all students in reward systems; quickly diagnosing and remedying individual pupil errors and misunderstandings; adding appealing elements to class activities; making students more aware of their individual progress; and using self-enhancing activities.
