Religious Life-Styles and Mental Health: An Exploratory Study.
Bergin, Allen E.; And Others
Journal of Counseling Psychology, v35 n1 p91-98 Jan 1988
Assessed lifestyles of religious college students. Subjects with continuous religious development and mild religious experiences were healthier than those with discontinuous development and intense religious experiences; however, intense religious experiences enhanced adjustment. Religiousness and mental health did not correlate significantly, but some modes of religious involvement appeared related to disturbance, and others enhanced stability and resilience. (Author/KS)
