A national survey of special education undergraduate and graduate programs found no significant differences concerning emphasis on preschool, primary, adolescent, and adult populations. In rankings of 11 curricular areas, undergraduate programs emphasized survey courses more than graduate programs, while graduate programs placed more relative emphasis on consultation and assessment.
