The Lack of Efficacy in Language Therapy: A Case Study.
Damico, Jack S.
Language, Speech, and Hearing Services in Schools, v19 n1 p51-66 Jan 1988
Five factors are identified as contributing to the lack of efficacy in the management of a language-disordered child: (1) fragmentation of language into discrete points during testing and therapy, (2) therapist bias, (3) acquiescence, (4) lack of follow up, and (5) bureaucratic policies and procedures. Solutions are suggested. (Author/DB)
