Previously, "vocational" seemed to mean "occupational"; it is becoming closer to the term "liberal." Recent developments in Scottish vocational education illustrate this shift in definition. New methodologies in use across education indicate that the distinction between vocational and general education is no longer valid. That provides an opportunity to demonstrate how all education is vocational. (Author/CH)
