Results of the 1986 Society of Park and Recreation Educators Survey of parks and recreation programs in higher education are discussed, including (1) student major characteristics such as race and gender; (2) projected enrollment of majors; (3) number of graduates; (4) various option programs in the field; (5) types of jobs entered by graduates; and (6) tenured faculty.
