Comparison of adaptive skills of 2,144 adult individuals with Down's syndrome with other developmentally disabled persons found age-related deficits only in persons with Down's syndrome over 50 years of age. Findings supported an increased risk for Alzheimer's disease in persons with Down's syndrome, but with signs appearing later than previously predicted. (Author/DB)
