The Impact of Children and Time Lapse Since Divorce on Women's Postdivorce Adjustment.
Lindsay, Gary R.; Scherman, Avraham
Journal of Mental Health Counseling, v9 n3 p174-83 Jul 1987
Examined problems of women (N=60) at three times after divorce (0-12 months, 18-30 months, 36-48 months) and impact of presence or absence of children. Results suggest that presence or absence of children was not significant factor, while amount of time elapsed after separation significantly affected many issues. Supports contention that women experience greatest difficulty shortly after separation. (Author/NB)
