Stressful Life Events and Criminal Homicide.
Humphrey, John A.; Palmer, Stuart
Omega: Journal of Death and Dying, v17 n4 p299-308 1986-87
Analyzed stressful life events of criminal homicide offenders (N=270) and nonviolent felonious property offenders (N=194) incarcerated over two-year period. Homicide offenders experienced stressful life events in greater number and more consistently than did nonviolent felons. Primary homicide offenders tended to suffer more stressful life events involving loss, while nonprimary offenders experienced more nonloss stress events. (Author/NB)
