Engineering Careers: Women in a Male-Dominated Field.
Jagacinski, Carolyn M.
Psychology of Women Quarterly, v11 n1 p97-110 Mar 1987
Conducted national survey comparing background and career characteristics of men and women engineers. Parents of women engineers were more likely to have college degrees and to be professionals. Women engineers were less likely to be married or have children than were men. Men made career decisions sooner than women. Gender differences in supervisory responsibility and salary favored men.
