Data on 73 alumni and 57 dropouts of an undergraduate program in allied health education were analyzed. Alumni and dropouts had similar demographic characteristics. Results indicate that allied health education students pose retention problems because motivation and commitment variables appear more important than academic ability or social/academic integration factors.
