Cognitive Style and Instructional Preferences: Some Inferences.
Kagan, Dona M.
Educational Forum, v51 n4 p393-403 Sum 1987
Four separate studies of (1) kindergarten teachers, (2) graduate students, (3) elementary teachers, and (4) preservice teachers measured the relationships between individual cognitive style and preferred instructional environment (student-centered or teacher-centered). The author expresses some concern that more intelligent subjects preferred teacher-centered (i.e., lecture method) instruction. (CH)
