Heterosocial Perception in Rapists.
Lipton, David N.; And Others
Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, v55 n1 p17-21 Feb 1987
Explored the hypothesis that rapists are selectively deficient in their ability to process interpersonal cues from women, especially negative cues. Found that rapists were significantly less accurate than subjects in nonrapist control groups when reading cues in simulated first-date interactions; violent nonrapists, in turn, were less accurate than nonviolent nonrapists.
