Follow-Up of Orientation Contacts: Effects on Freshman Environmental Satisfaction.
Cuyjet, Michael J.; Rode, Denise L.
Journal of College Student Personnel, v28 n1 p21-28 Jan 1987
Telephone and letter contacts extending the summer orientation relationship into the fall semester improved students' perceptions of the college. On the Environmental Satisfaction Inventory derived from Astin's Inventory of College Activities, institutional perception and community factors showed the effects of contacts by orientation staff. Grades were unrelated. Women responded more positively to orientation follow-up than did men. (Author/KS)
