A model incorporating an individual case study approach, a part-time learning center, and independent study was successful in introducing independent study techniques to three of six highly gifted 6- and 7-year-olds. Model implementation should focus on students' skills in decision-making, locating information, and recording/communicating information, as well as access to resources. (Author/CB)
