What Employees Really Want from Their Jobs.
Cangemi, Joseph P.; Guttschalk, George E.
Psychology: A Quarterly Journal of Human Behavior, v23 n2-3 p57-61 1986
Surveyed what employees (N=35,000) really want from their jobs and what their supervisors perceive they want from their jobs. The employees' highest ranking wants--full appreciation for work done, feeling "in" on things, and sympathetic understanding of personal problems--were the supervisors' (thinking money was the most desired) perceptions of their employees' least wants. Suggests industries respond to employee wants. (Author/KS)
