Some Issues Concerning Aggression and Violence in Human Beings.
Ponton, Elizabeth
Psychology: A Quarterly Journal of Human Behavior, v23 n2-3 p30-33 1986
Examines aggression and violence from an interdisciplinary perspective. Humanistic psychologist Rollo May sees violence as the end product of power deprivation. Anthropologists Konrad Lorenz and Robert Ardrey regard aggression as an innate biological drive. Anthropologist Richard Leakey views it as a learned, culturally determined response. Implications of these theories for the future of the human race are considered. (Author/KS)
