Compliance and Correlated Problem Behavior in Children: Effects of Contingent and Noncontingent Reinforcement.
Cataldo, Michael F.; And Others
Analysis and Intervention in Developmental Disabilities, v6 n4 p265-82 1986
Four developmentally disabled children (ages 3-5) identified as noncompliant received a standard set of adult requests under three conditions: no reinforcement, noncontingent reinforcement, and reinforcement contingent on compliance. Among results was that the contingent reinforcement procedure produced covariation in all subjects' compliance and selected untreated problem behaviors. (Author/JW)
