Attributional Biases among Clinicians: A Comparison of Psychoanalysts and Behavior Therapists.
Plous, S.; Zimbardo, Philip G.
Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, v54 n4 p568-70 Aug 1986
Assessed attributional style of psychoanalysts, behavior therapists, and nontherapists. Results indicated that the clinical task of generating explanations for problematic behavior appeared to be handled differently by psychoanalysts and behavior therapists. Selection of a therapist may be an important factor in determining inferred etiology and recommended treatment, independent of the actual problem. (Author/ABB)
