Immigrant teachers in Israel--314 from the Soviet Union and 91 from North America--completed questionaires about attitudes toward teaching, perception of status, past training, etc. Responses showed significant differences between the groups reflecting two distinct models of the occupation of teaching and distinct patterns of adjustment to the Israeli educational system.
