Three survey instruments were administered to 20 preservice elementary teachers, 20 first-and-second-year elementary teachers, and 20 five-to-ten-year elementary teachers to examine job satisfaction, communication patterns, and professional concerns. Although the findings do not demonstrate prodigious differences or extreme transitions along the professional continuum, concern is raised by the reported communication patterns and the lack of collegial interaction.
