Responses of Persons Who Are Mentally Retarded to Four Components of Relaxation Instruction.
Rickard, Henry C.; And Others
Mental Retardation, v22 n5 p248-52 Oct 1984
Individuals in four IQ ranges were asked to respond to four forms of relaxation instruction: (1) muscle tension/relaxation, (2) suggestions of relaxation, (3) controlled breathing, and (4) imagery. Preliminary findings suggest that relaxation procedures for the retarded may include the four instruction components with the expectation that they will be understood and followed. (Author/CL)
