A synthesis of the literature on the purposes, delivery systems, and philosophy of vocational education leads to the proposition that vocational education's responsibility is to enable individuals to develop both generalizable and specific knowledge and skills, such as working habits, self-actualization, flexibility, positive attitude, responsibility, self-awareness, problem-solving and thinking skills, and employability skills.
