Black Females'"Place" in Desegregated Classrooms.
Grant, Linda
Sociology of Education, v57 n2 p98-111 Apr 1984
Black girls' classroom roles were found to differ from those of other children, e.g., Black girls had the most extensive, most egalitarian peer ties of any race-gender group and were less tied to teachers than Whites. Teacher behavior, student attitudes, and peer interactions contribute to the "place" Black girls occupy. (Author/RM)
