The Relation of Temperament and Social Factors to Behavior Problems in Three-Year-Old Children.
Barron, A.P.; Earls, F.
Journal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry and Allied Disciplines, v25 n1 p23-33 Jan 1984
Investigates the relationship of temperament characteristics and social factors to behavior adjustment among 90 three-year-old children. Inflexibility of child, negative parent/child interaction, and high family stress are highly associated with poor behavior adjustment. A path analysis suggests that flexibility and positive interaction diminish adverse effects of stress on children's behavioral adjustment. (RH)
