Metaphors in "Treasures of Tutankhamen": Implications for Aesthetic Education.
Foss, Sonja K.; Radich, Anthony J.
Art Education, v37 n1 p6-11 Jan 1984
Art educators often have difficulty communicating because of assumptions people hold about art. Six metaphors identified in discussions about the Treasures of Tutankhamen exhibit--dealing with the themes of art as entertainment, wealth, volume, antiquity, superlative, and technique--are discussed in hopes that teachers will consider carefully each metaphor's implications.
