Blacks in Segregated and Desegregated Neighborhoods: An Explanatory Study.
Scott, Richard B.
Urban Affairs Quarterly, v18 n3 p327-46 Mar 1983
Data from the 1970 census indicated that Blacks in low percentage Black neighborhoods had higher incomes, a greater probability of working wives, and higher educational levels than those in high percentage Black neighborhoods. Discriminant analysis suggested that social psychological factors may mediate demographic factors in Blacks' decisions to seek desegregated housing. (Author/MJL)
