Viewer Apprehension about Victimization and Crime Drama Programs.
Wakshlag, Jacob J.; And Others
Communication Research--An International Quarterly, v10 n2 p195-217 Apr 1983
Findings are consistent with the view that individuals who are apprehensive about crime and victimization find crime drama particularly exciting and that this excitement induces more intense evaluations of the shows. Findings are also compatible with the selective exposure hypothesis that apprehensive viewers are particularly attracted to crime drama. (PD)
