R. Fuerstein's views on increasing cognitive functioning of handicapped students is reviewed. His theory of mediated learning experience, which stresses structured learning, is discussed. The Learning Potential Assessment Device, a measure of learning modifiability, is considered, and a specific curriculum, Instrumental Enrichment, is explained. (CL)
