Whether students of varying ethnic backgrounds overtly behave differently or are treated differently by teachers in classrooms was investigated in nine inner-suburban classrooms in Sydney, Australia. Differences in learning outcomes that may be attributable to differences in classroom interaction were examined. (MLW)
