Since federal legislation first barred sex discrimination in educational programs receiving federal funds, progress has been made toward opening courses, extracurricular activities, and professional education to women, and in removing textbook bias. Problems remain, however, in changing attitudes. Women are still underrepresented in some fields, particularly educational administration. (PP)
