An anthropology of knowledge transmission must expand its focus beyond child development, schooling, and cultural continuity in order to probe the relationship between cultural knowledge and scientific knowledge and inquiry and to analyze processes of knowledge construction and transmission, structural variables, cultural assumptions, biophysiological variables, diachronic and synchronic contexts, and learning outcomes.
