Results of a questionnaire concerning the qualities/characteristics preferred in a nursing continuing education consultant showed that the most important qualities were adequate background and preparation; ability to present knowledge; openness to audience response, questions, and comments; and evidence of ability to do clinical practice in area discussed, if appropriate.
