Explored the attitudes of college freshmen toward older students, as well as differences in ageist attitudes between the sexes. A study of 215 freshmen showed their attitudes toward older students were positive in academic or nonintimate situations but negative in social or intimate situations. Females reacted particularly negatively. (Author/JAC)
