A study was done to: (1) classify competencies needed by training and development specialists in the field of professional education; (2) identify the competencies most important to a postsecondary education program; and (3) identify the backgrounds and personnel characteristics of training specialists. Recommendations were made for a broad-based master of education degree in postsecondary education. (JN)
