After their student teaching experience, 19 student teachers completed the Pupil Control Ideology (PCI) Form. The significant positive correlation between individual PCI scores and the number of hours spent in instructional activities during student teaching suggests that the more time spent teaching a class, the more custodial classroom ideologies become.
