Premorbid Personality Differentiation of Cancer and Noncancer Groups: A Test of the Hypothesis of Cancer Proneness.
Dattore, Patrick J.; And Others
Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, v48 n3 p388-94 Jun 1980
Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory scores yielded significant discriminations between cancer and noncancer groups. The group with cancer was significantly separated from the noncancer group on the basis of lower scores on Byrne's Repression-Sensitization scale (greater repression) and on the Depression scale of the MMPI (less self-reported depression).
