Chronic Environmental Threat and the Repression of Death-Related Cognitions.
Mercer, G. William; Bunting, Grendan
Essence: Issues in the Study of Ageing, Dying, and Death, v3 n2 p79-83 1979
Compares Northern Ireland and Canadian university students with regard to the number of family and friends whom they recall having died. Results suggest that since those in Northern Ireland may be repressing death-related cognitions, this repression may be related to their living in a high-threat environment. (Author)
