Black Ministers: Roles, Behavior, and Congregation Expectations.
Jones, Woodrow, Jr.; And Others
Western Journal of Black Studies, v3 n2 p99-103 Sum 1979
This paper examines how Black ministers view their roles within the church and in the larger community. Based on data from a study conducted in Nashville, Tennessee, it is concluded that, while the expectations of apathetic congregations produce conservative ministers, those of activist congregations stimulate their ministers to greater liberalism.
