Effects of Seating Arrangement on Small-Group Behavior.
Patterson, Miles L.; And Others
Social Psychology Quarterly, v42 n2 p180-85 Jun 1979
The effects of seating distance and orientation on small-group behavior were investigated in male and female four-person groups. The nonfacing orientation produced more frequent self-manipulative behaviors and postural adjustments and longer pauses than the facing orientation. Processes underlying orientation effects and their potential generalizability are discussed. (Author/RD)
