The results of a nationwide survey of the use of subprofessionals by state vocational rehabilitation agencies reveal much discord regarding the use, nomenclature, and employment requirements for support personnel. It is proposed that a career-ladder system involving task-specific standardized work roles based on the Rehabilitation Job Task Inventory be developed. (Author)
