Income and Independence Effects on Marital Dissolution: Results from the Seattle and Denver Income-Maintenance Experiments.
Hannan, Michael T.; And Others
American Journal of Sociology, v84 n3 p611-33 Nov 1978, Nov78
Discusses effects of income and income fluctuation on marital dissolution. Data are based on a model of nonlinear income and independence effects. Findings indicated that effects of an income maintenance program on marital dissolution depend upon the payment a couple receives, income before the program, level of the wife's independence, and magnitude of the change in the wife's independence.
