Man/Society/Technology, 37, 7, 7-9, Apr 78
Johann Gottlieb Heusinger, an eighteenth-century German educator who was influenced by writings of Rousseau and Kant, argued the importance of bodily activity to children and advocated making industrial occupations central in the elementary curriculum. Heusinger's ideas influenced Dewey and Bonser and ultimately were important to the Industrial Arts Education movement in America. (DTT)
