Points out that the whole ethic of objectivity has been rejected by various radical groups in this country, who have maintained that objectivity is not the only reliable guide towards truth. Calls for a revision of the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) academic-freedom statement to recognize that in certain parts of the educational process--the selection of topics for study, for example--personal preferences and beliefs are quite properly involved.
