The implementation process of educational innovations is examined from the viewpoint of a "practicality ethic." Teachers will adopt innovation perceived as "practical" (i.e., congruent with the classroom situation, provided with methods for implementation, and offering a return on time or money invested," and discard those perceived as "impractical."
