Sex Differences in Attitudes toward Arithemtic-Mathematics from Early Elementary to College Levels
Norman, Ralph
Journal of Psychology, 97, 247-56, Nov 77
Shows consistent declines in favorable attitudes toward mathematics by both sexes from grade two through college, with significantly poorer attitudes for females from grade nine on. Bases attitude differences on awareness of sex roles with onset of puberty, suggesting the need for remediating female attitudes. (RL)
