Social Stress and Mortality Among Nonwhite Males
Dennis, Ruth E.
Phylon, 38, 3, 315-28, Sep 77
The leading causes of death for young black males are accidents, homicide and suicide. Stress arising from socioeconomic conditions precipitates these events. Heart disease and cancer, other major causes of death, are also thought to be environmentally related. The author proposes the development of new types of social institutions to remedy the problem.
