Contemporary Prairie Perceptions of Canada's Native Peoples
Gibbins, Roger; Ponting, J. Rick
Prairie Forum, 2, 1, 57-81, May 77
Perceptions by non-Indian prairie residents of Indians and their current situation were examined through an early 1976 survey. Results indicated that non-Indian prairie residents perceived differences between the two groups, had a degree of awareness of problems facing the Indian population, and were not generally hostile to the process of movement toward a new accommodation between the two groups. Differences in perception were more significant between respondents of different educational attainments and age. (Author/NQ)
